Our Headquarters’ location, based in White Plains is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing team. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records for our privately held roofing supply distribution company with operations across six states and multiple subsidiaries.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis for multiple entities.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts as well as cash accounts, prepaid expenses, intercompany expenses, accruals and allocations.
  • Monitor bank transactions, deposit checks, resolve issues with online banking.
  • Work with AR Department regarding ACH/wires received from customers on a daily basis, intercompany transfers, assist with any transaction issues/questions/disputes.
  • Assist branch admins/managers with cash drawer and petty cash reconciliations
  • Prepare journal entries and financial statements for RE companies.
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax, fuel taxes returns; respond to tax notices from states, request tax refunds when needed.
  • Assist with audits and tax schedule preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Prepare Dashboards and other ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work on special projects when requested
  • You will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the distribution industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Wage Range: $75k- $90k annually plus additional benefits. In compliance with applicable law, this range is a good faith estimate based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.
